Course overview
This course is only available to corporate clients.
This course covers the skills and knowledge required to perform four-wheel drive vehicle operations on unsealed roads and recovering a bogged 4WD vehicle.
This course covers the following units:
- FWPCOT3325 Operate four wheel drive vehicles on unsealed roads
- FWPCOT3326 Recover four wheel drive vehicle
This course is delivered as a module, attendance on both days is required to successfully complete the course.
The theory component is delivered in a classroom environment and the practical component is delivered on the client’s site using a 4WD fitted with a winch.
Classes commence at 8am and finish at 4:30pm.
- Operate a 4WD vehicle in accordance with OHS/WHS legislation, environmental and organisational requirements
- Use appropriate range, gear, speed, driving and braking techniques to negotiate a range of terrains
- Operate 4x4 vehicle on inclines
- Perform stall-stop recovery techniques
- Recover 4x4 vehicle using winch, Kinetic energy and traction devices
- Perform and document routine maintenance and identify faults or repairs required
Individuals must be over 18 years of age, hold at minimum a provisional driver licence and have experience driving a 4WD vehicle.
- At the time of booking, you must disclose any medications or disability which may affect your learning or physical ability to conduct the safe operation of a 4WD vehicle
- You must understand and speak the English language at a level that enables the safe operation of a 4WD vehicle
- You must supply your current drivers licence and one other form of ID.
- You are required to wear comfortable and practical clothing, and steel capped work boots.
- PPE will be provided on the day, however if you have or have access to leather gloves or a high visibility vest or shirt, please bring them with you.
- Tea & Coffee is provided.
- Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the commencement of training.
The participant is trained/instructed on each competency, the participant must then demonstrate the ability to perform each criterion and will be progressively assessed. Should the participant be deemed not competent, the student has a right to appeal the assessment decision and will be provided with the opportunity to either challenge the assessment or apply for re-assessment within a reasonable time frame. Students have the right to appeal if they are not satisfied with the outcome, according to your rights and responsibilities detailed in the student handbook. Further fees may be applicable for participants that require reassessment.
This course is Nationally Recognised Training and applicants deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment for the following units:
- FWPCOT3325 Operate four wheel drive vehicles on unsealed roads
- FWPCOT3326 Recover four wheel drive vehicle
All courses require a position holding deposit of 50% you will be advised of the amount at the time of booking. Payment MUST be received within 48 hours of booking the course or the place can be given to another student. The balance will be required prior to course commencement date. Facilities include Bank Transfer, EFTPOS, Credit Card or Cash. Employers/Employment Agencies Employers/Employment Agencies will be forwarded an invoice upon receipt of booking form. 1 Stop Driving School’s payment terms are 14-day from the date of the invoice unless prior agreement has been made. Should payment continue to be outstanding beyond the payment terms as stated above, the customer is responsible for all costs including any legal costs and any other fees that are incurred by 1 Stop Driving School in recovering any outstanding monies. Should a participant not attend the course/class on the nominated day(s), full fees for that participant will be charged, unless there have been prior arrangements made with 1 Stop Driving School.

Please note there is a 1% surcharge for debit card payment and 1.5% surcharge for credit card payment.
Employers/Employment Agencies
Employers/Employment Agencies will be forwarded an invoice upon receipt of booking form. Unless prior agreement has been made, 1 Stop Training Centre’s payment terms are 14-day from the date of the invoice.
Should payment continue to be outstanding beyond the payment terms as stated above, the customer is responsible for all costs including any legal costs and any other fees that are incurred by 1 Stop Training Centre in recovering any outstanding monies.
